DATCU Named as New Mean Green Stadium Sponsor
On Monday, July 31, UNT Athletics announced a new sponsor for the home of Mean Green football – DATCU. A longstanding partner with UNT, DATCU was founded by two North Texas professors in the 1930s. It's an exciting time for the Mean Green and UNT Athletics as we embark on this new journey with The American Athletic Conference and DATCU. Go Mean Green!

Dear UNT supporter,

As we enter our inaugural year in the American Athletic Conference, with our first football game against Cal on Sept. 2, we announced big news this week for the home of Mean Green football! North Texas Athletics and DATCU entered into a new football stadium naming rights and campus agreement, as announced by UNT Vice President and Director of Athletics Jared Mosley. UNT's football stadium now will be recognized as DATCU Stadium with first competition beginning with the 2023 Mean Green football season.

We deeply appreciate the support that this sponsorship means for our community. I look forward to working together with DATCU as we start our first season with the American Athletic Conference and all the excitement this will bring to our students, faculty, staff, and community. We appreciate the support and sponsorship from Apogee Telecom since 2011, and we're looking forward to expanding our relationship with DATCU as we venture into a new era of Mean Green sports. I hope you're as excited as I am for a great season!

Our campus at Frisco has some big news as well. A $3 million gift from Satish and Yasmin Gupta was announced that will support scholarships and UNT at Frisco. The first gift entrusted to UNT's branch campus in Collin County will establish the Satish and Yasmin Gupta Career Center. I'm excited for our students, faculty, and staff in Frisco and can't wait to see what the future holds.

As summer winds down, I hope you will be able to visit us to see firsthand all the excitement on campus. If you're on campus or close by, check out the UNT calendar for the growing list of events throughout the fall semester. Homecoming is right around the corner! We can't wait to see you on campus.

UNT Proud,
Neal Smatresk

Spotlight on Excellence
Wolf Pack

Artistic talent at UNT is never in short supply from students and alumni of the College of Visual Arts and Design. Texas-based artists, many of them CVAD alumni, have their work featured in an interactive art experience, titled "The Real Unreal," at Meow Wolf in Grapevine, their fourth permanent exhibition. Meow Wolf is an art venue that originated in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Its immersive exhibitions allow local artists to come together to develop and display their skills for the public. Each location features different artists, including many that are local. Read more about the talented alumni featured in Meow Wolf's first location in Texas.
