UNT campus.
We're proud to brag that UNT is a Tree Campus USA university for the seventh consecutive year.
Straight from Smatresk

Dear Alum,

Our constant pursuit of excellence is one reason we're becoming more nationally prominent, ranking among the state and nation's best public universities.

President Smatresk

It's also why our graduate rehabilitation counseling program was recently ranked 15th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, making it one of 14 UNT programs in U.S. News' Top 100 rankings.

Another reason is the dedication and high quality of our faculty and staff who go above and beyond to make UNT a great place to work and study. We recently recognized the excellence of some of our most dedicated and outstanding staff members during Staff Appreciation Month.

As our alumni and friends, you know the importance of having faculty and staff who are committed to helping students succeed and to bringing distinction to our great university. Their impact on our students leads to graduates -- like alumnus Ernie Kuehne -- who love staying active in our campus.

Thanks to Mr. Kuehne the UNT Kuehne Speaker Series on National Security brings the nation's top experts on national issues to the North Texas region every year. Join us May 12 to hear the series' guest speaker Andrea Tantaros, co-host of "Outnumbered" on Fox News.

Also, don't forget to show your Mean Green pride and get a sneak preview of the football season at our annual Green and White spring football game at 2 p.m. April 18 at Apogee Stadium.

As you can see, UNT has so much to keep you inspired and make you proud to be a member of the UNT family.

UNT proud,
Neal Smatresk

Preserving the legacy of black artists

I was honored to join Black Academy of Arts and Letters' founder and president Curtis King (right above) and other leading advocates in celebrating our new partnership with the academy. Our libraries' special collections is the new home for the academy's archive, a well-known repository for memorabilia celebrating African American culture and the artistic achievements of famous artists like Sarah Vaughan, Ruby Dee and Erykah Badu.
